“I want people to know that even in the worst case scenario, you can still live life fully and stay positive. I was told I could return to work after six months, but I returned to work after three months because I wanted to stay busy. It was good to get back to work and prove to myself that there is life after cancer treatment!” - Richard Hough
Rich, store manager at the Saranac Lake, New York Aubuchon Hardware is now in remission from colorectal cancer and living life to the fullest!
To support the ongoing fight against cancer, we partnered with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and The Jimmy Fund to raise money for patient care and research.
We asked our local communities to help us Hammer Away Cancer!
When customers donated $5 or more, we gave them a thank you gift of $5 off their next purchase!
With so many lives touched by this terrible disease, it has been rewarding to join forces with our customers and employees in an effort to raise meaningful dollars.
Our goal was to raise a staggering $50,000..
We are ecstatic to announce that we crushed our goal and raised over $54,000!
In addition, the Aubuchon Foundation contributed another $25,000!
That's over $79,000 sent directly to The Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute!
Thank you to everyone who participated in Hammering Away Cancer!
Rich is a proud 2020 cancer survivor that has been a true inspiration to us all!
